Founding Vice President (m/f/d)
for studies and teaching

We are seeking a dynamic leader with a strong desire to establish new and trendsetting formats in teaching at a technical university. Extensive university teaching experience in a subject area that fits the interdisciplinary profile of the Technische Universität Nürnberg and experience with digital teaching and learning formats are mandatory. A high level of teamwork, strategic thinking, and international orientation are prerequisites for a successful candidate. A key element in the future structure of the Technische Universität Nürnberg will be a „TU Nuremberg Graduate School“ as a central institution involving all departments, which will be responsible in particular for the organization of the degree programs. The establishment and management of this institution will be the responsibility of the founding vice president.

The call for applications is aimed at candidates with a university degree, pedagogical aptitude, an above-average doctorate, and experience in academic self-administration or in science management. In-depth knowledge in the areas of quality assurance in teaching, course development, university didactics and lifelong learning is desirable.

The founding vice presidents are appointed for five years by the founding president in agreement with the Bavarian State Ministry of Science and Art. An extension is possible for the duration of the establishment phase, up to a maximum of another five years. If the corresponding requirements are met, appointment to a professorship as a civil servant at the Technische Universität Nürnberg is a possibility.

The position is suitable for severely disabled persons.
